Italian Linen Craftsmanship, Born in Sicily.
For over 65 years, the Bellavia family has been making premium linen in Italy. The Napking is what happens when that heritage meets color, contemporary design, and an uncompromising love for the art of the table.
Where It All Began: 60 Years of Italian Linen
It started in Sicily — a small island that has always known how to turn the simple act of gathering into something extraordinary. In the early 1960s, the Bellavia family began producing premium home textiles in the Italian tradition: by hand, with patience, with pride.
Decades passed. Techniques evolved. But the commitment to quality Italian linen never wavered. Linen was not just a material — it was a language. One spoken at wedding tables and Sunday lunches, at harvest celebrations and quiet family dinners. A language of care and conviviality that runs deep in Mediterranean culture.
In 2018, The Napking was born — a new Italian linen brand rooted in that same tradition, but looking decisively forward. The mission was clear: take the craftsmanship that Bellavia had perfected over 65 years, and pair it with contemporary design, saturated color, and the kind of joyful personality that makes every table impossible to ignore.
From Sicily, With Intention
Every Italian linen product you see on these pages was made in our workshop in Sicily — from the raw fabric to the finished, beautifully packaged piece. We own the entire production process: we select the materials, prepare the fabric, create the prints, and produce everything in-house using our proprietary digital printing technology.
This is not a detail. It is everything. It means we can guarantee the quality of every linen tablecloth, runner, and napkin that leaves our hands. It means we can push our palette further — saturated colors that don’t fade, patterns with the kind of resolution and precision that only direct production can deliver. And when something isn’t right, we know exactly where to look.
We release two Italian linen collections per year — Spring/Summer and Autumn/Winter — each one a considered exploration of color, culture, and material. Every collection is a complete world, designed from the beginning to mix and match with the others. Because a beautiful table is never just one thing — and neither is great Italian linen.
What We Stand For: The Values Behind Every Italian Linen Piece
Quality Without Compromise
We use only premium fabrics — pure Italian linen, cotton satin, panama cotton — sourced and selected for their texture, durability, and natural beauty. Every linen tablecloth leaves our workshop folded, pressed, and ready for your table. There is no “good enough” at The Napking.
Design With a Soul
Our prints are not patterns. They are stories — drawn from Sicilian culture, Mediterranean botanics, marine life, art history, and the vivid palette of the Italian landscape. We name our Italian linen collections with the care of a poet and design them with the eye of an artist.
Sustainability as a Practice
We believe that beautiful Italian linen should not come at the cost of the world we live in. Our fabrics are OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 and GOTS certified — free from harmful substances, grown and processed responsibly. Our workshop runs on solar energy. We use fluoro-free coatings and minimize plastic at every step. Responsible production is not a trend for us. It is a responsibility.
The Spirit of Conviviality
The table is where life happens. Our Italian linen is designed to be used — enjoyed, washed, laid again, and loved more with every season. Our mix-and-match philosophy celebrates the idea that the most beautiful table setting is a personal one. There are no rules. Only the joy of gathering.
Care in Every Detail
From the first print to the last fold, every Italian linen piece we make is treated as if it were a gift. Because most of the time, it is.
Our Mission & Vision
Our Mission — Why We Exist
To transform functional textiles into objects of beauty — Italian linen pieces that celebrate craftsmanship, honor the ritual of the table, and bring color, warmth, and personality to every home that chooses them.
We exist for the people who believe that how a table is set reflects how much you care. For hosts who understand that a beautiful linen mise en place is not vanity — it is hospitality. For those who see an Italian linen tablecloth not as a covering, but as an invitation.
Our Vision — Where We Are Going
A world where Italian craftsmanship is not a museum piece, but a living, colorful, contemporary force. We are building a global Italian linen brand rooted in Sicilian soil — one that proves that the finest table linens don’t have to be austere, that quality and joy are not opposites, and that the most beautiful tables in the world can be found anywhere a Napking cloth is laid.
Our Certifications: Premium Italian Linen You Can Trust
We don’t ask you to take our word for it. Every quality claim we make about our Italian linen fabrics is backed by independent, internationally recognized certification. Here is what that means for you, in practice.
Every Italian linen fabric we use has been independently tested by OEKO-TEX® laboratories for harmful substances — including pesticides, heavy metals, and formaldehyde. Our linen tablecloths, napkins, and runners are certified free from over 100 potentially dangerous chemicals. Safe for you, safe for your family, safe for the table you share with the people you love.
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the world’s leading certification for organic fiber processing. Our GOTS-certified Italian linen fabrics are grown without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers, and processed under strict environmental and social standards from the field to the finished textile.
Solar-Powered Production in Sicily
Our Italian linen workshop in Sicily runs entirely on a photovoltaic solar energy system. The same Sicilian sun that has inspired our Mediterranean palette for generations also powers the machines that print it onto linen. We believe the finest Italian textiles should leave the smallest possible footprint.
Fluoro-Free, PFAS-Free Coatings
Where we apply water-repellent treatments to our Italian linen fabrics, we use exclusively fluoro-free, PFAS-free formulas — effective protection without harmful chemistry. Better for the environment, better for your table.
100% Made in Italy — No Exceptions
Every The Napking textile — every linen tablecloth, runner, napkin, kitchen towel, and cushion — is entirely designed, printed, finished, and packaged in Sicily, Italy. We do not outsource any step of our textile production. “Made in Italy” is not a marketing label for us. It is a practice, a commitment, and a source of pride.
One note: our decorative acrylic trays are crafted by specialist artisans in France, chosen for their exceptional quality and precision — consistent with our standard for every Italian linen accessory we offer.
Gift-Ready Italian Linen: Our Packaging
At The Napking, we believe the experience of receiving an Italian linen piece should begin long before you reach the tablecloth itself.
Every item in our collection is prepared with the same meticulous attention we give to its design: carefully folded by hand, perfectly pressed, and nestled inside a beautifully crafted signature box. A branded fabric band wraps each linen piece — an elegant finishing touch that marks it, unmistakably, as something made to be given, and made to be treasured.
Open a The Napking box and you will find your Italian linen exactly as it would appear on the finest shelf of a Sicilian boutique: crisp, composed, and ready to grace your table. Whether you are treating yourself to a premium linen tablecloth or sending a gift halfway around the world, the unboxing is part of the experience.
Folded & Pressed — Always
Every Italian linen piece leaves our workshop hand-folded and freshly pressed — arriving at your door exactly as it should be: crisp, clean, and ready to set your table.
Our Signature Gift Box
Our boxes are designed to protect and to delight. Sturdy, refined, and worthy of the Italian linen they contain — as at home on a gift table as they are on a boutique shelf.
No Extra Wrapping Needed
Every The Napking order is gift-ready by design. The signature branded band, the beautifully pressed linen, the elegant box — it arrives as a complete gift. Perfect for birthdays, housewarmings, wedding gifts, and every celebration worth a beautiful Italian linen table.
