The Triumphal Cart of Santa Rosalia
The Feast of Santa Rosalia, or Festino, is the most heartfelt celebration in Palermo, as it honors the cityās patron saint, celebrated every year from July 14th to 15th.
The Saint triumphs atop the cart, while theĀ city accompanies her with songs, dances, and fireworks. The Cart isĀ a work of art in wood and metal, adorned with flowers, drapes, andĀ sacred images, while the Saint on board is crowned and dressedĀ in golden robes, symbolizing her role as the protector of the city.
